ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNS
KDS was established in 1979 as a partnership based in Colombo. It expanded into a fast growing company and a subsidiary; Urban Planning Consultants was registered as a planning & landscape architectural practice in 1982. In 1984 the partnership was converted to a private limited liability company conforming to the guidelines set out by the Sri Lanka institute of architects.

KDS provides partner contractors and con struction companies along with our in house architects to take on Design-build projects, all under one roof. These services focus on a streamlined process from initial design phase to estimation and constrution. ENGINEERING DESIGNS
Under Engineering design solutions the firm offers Civil / structural designs, electrical designs, air conditioning / ventilation systems, water supply, drainage, sewerage and waste water disposal, computer system / data cabling design, telecommunication system designs and fire detection and fire fighting system design.

QUANTITY SURVEYING
Our quantity surveyors are well versed with the various standard conditions of contracts used in projects involving a wide selection of local and international clients, consultants and contractors. Apart from providing project cost and financial controls, our quantity surveyors are often called upon to support the project team with value engineering solutions and to offer advice to clients and consultants on contractual issues arising from changes in the contract’s scope.
FEASIBILITY STUDIES
Feasibility studies establish the physical and eco nomic framework for future projects inspired by the clients. KDS performs pre-design services and feasibility studies that focus on the unique conditions, programmatic uses and financial constraints of each project. Feasibility studies can include many services such as research and analysis of existing conditions, site selection, building audits, needs assessments, community consultations, economic feasibility, business and operational planning etc.

TOWN & URBAN PLANNING
KDS have a subsidiary partnership urban planning consultants registered as a planning & landscape architectural practice in 1982. The senior partner of KDS, architect planner Elmo de Silva is a fellow of the institute of town planners in Sri Lanka. Urban planning consultants have been involved in the planning of townships nationwide. The firm also possesses the expertise to undertake medium to large urban planning schemes.
